Clementine
A short film that follows the story of Jack, a young boy in Glasgow, who befriends a pigeon. After spending a wonderful day together running around the city Jack learns that perhaps it is best to let what you love fly free.
Clementine was featured as an Official Selection in The Scottish Shorts Film Festival in 2018.
This is Joel and Clementine, the two pigeons that featured in Clementine. They came to this set via a kind man only known as The Pigeon Man from the outskirts of Edinburgh who was renting out carrier pigeons for £15. They lived with me in my two bedroom flat for a week leading up to the production. The production team and I spent those days getting to know them, figuring out the last details of the shoot, and trying to stop them from wreaking havoc all over the flat. At the end of the film we all felt quite sad letting them go as they had become our friends as well. A few days later I got a text from The Pigeon Man confirming that both of them made it home safe.
